Five Docus on Arroyo’s Pol Aggression

September 6, 2006

The Congress of Teachers/Educators for Nationalism and Democracy (CONTEND) of the University of the Philippines, cordially invites you to ASINTA: Five Documentaries on the State’s Political Aggression, a festival of documentary Filipino films tackling the Arroyo administration’s wanton political aggression. On September 9, Saturday, 10am and 1pm, at the UP Film Center, the following documentaries will be shown:

1. Batas Busal and the Face of Terrorism (Kodao Productions)

2. PP 1017: Ode to Democracy (Koda)

3. Stop the Killings (Kodao)

4. At All Cost (CenPEG)

5. State of War (ABC 5)

In this regard, we would like to invite you and your friends to this event for a very minimal ticket fee of P50.
For teachers of humanities and social sciences, the documentaries can
be discussed as politico-cultural texts on the continuous historicizing
in the Philippines in the context of class and cultural struggles.
Thus, we encourage you to require your students to watch the said
documentaries. Tickets will be sold on the show date at the UP Film
Center ticket booth.

Thank you very much and we are hoping for your participation. You may
send your inquiries to 0915-4413324 (Mykel Andrada) and/or 0906-4371773
(Lisa Clemente), or to mykelandrada@gmail.com.
